It can grow as much as twenty two (22) to twenty four (24) for female German Wirehaired Pointer, and twenty four (24) to twenty six (26) for male German Wirehaired Pointers.
Sprucing Up A German Wirehaired Pointer
When sprucing up a German wirehaired pointer, you need to do it regularly many times of the week. The coat needs to be stripped every a couple of months or so. The harsh coat needs brushing to make the coat really look great. Clipping is needed every few months especially for dog shows. It is good to check its ears and eyes to avoid the onset of dangerous infections. This dog is a natural medium shedder and not advisable for people who has allergic reactions like sneezing most times.

This breed can suffer from cataracts, HD, elbow dysplasia. It can live as much as ten (10) to (12) twelve years. The German Wirehaired Pointer is known to be a healthy lineage. The German Wirehaired Pointer carries with it CERF and OFA certificates for authentication.
In the late 19th century, the German Wirehaired Pointer was developed, and they are naturally hunters of different types of games. By the year 1959, this breed was registered with the AKC.
