English Foxhound
If you are looking for an affable pet who likes to socialize the whole time, you need to have an English Foxhound. This dog is known to be lively and alert. It is also a happy companion of other household pets, and can be very youthful at all times. It can retain its puppy energy, stamina, and playfulness of quite sometime.
This dog is naturally stubborn and can be independent. It needs an owner who has an experience in owning dogs. Trainers need confidence, optimism, and positive optimism whenever necessary.
The English Fox hound is a breed which is instinctively a hunter, a chaser and can really prey on smaller pets. It has to be trained as a young puppy if it has to learn how to get along with other pets, otherwise there will be endless chasing around in your house. A distinctive feature of an English Fox hound is the ears found at the sides of the head. Female English Foxhound can weigh from sixty (60) to ninety five (95) and Male English Foxhound can be as long as twenty four (24) to twenty six (26) inches
Sprucing Up An English Foxhound
The dog is known to be a “low shedder,” great for people who have allergies but want to own a dog. Sprucing them up is not demanding as compared to other breeds. It needs regular brushing, and a wiping of damp cloth, to keep the coat sleek and really spic and span. The ears have to be dried clean to avoid infectious diseases and to keep it healthy.
Health, Lifespan And Lineage
This breed is naturally healthy and robust. Its lifespan is from ten (10) to twelve (12) years. It has some health issues to deal with like HD, renal disease, pancreas problems, HD, and renal disease. English Foxhound Terriers have CERF and OFA certificates.
The hometown of the English Foxhound is from Great Britain. This breed is trained hunting in packs and known to be the dogs as the favorite pet of the former first president of the United States, President George Washington. He has to import several of them for his home. English Foxhound was registered in the year 1909 with the AKC.
