The beard of an Airdale has to be kept groomed at all times to make them look really neat and cool. His coat shreds as most dogs do, but not heavily as compared to its counterparts. It has a long fluffy tail. Some breeders opt to have their Airedale Terrier tails especially in the U.S. the others opt to have it long, like in UK.

It is a sturdy terrier and has the capacity to grow at 22-24 inches, weighing 45 to 70 pounds. It wears his coat wiry and quite hard and its grizzled black and tan. The breeding of Airdale Terrier started from Waterside, Great Britain or commonly known as Bingley Terrier, the dogs are used for killing and hunting vermin and army work. In the year 1888, the terrier was officially registered at AKC.
