Vizsla
Vizsla is a dog with lots of attitude, energy, and stamina. It is gifted with alert, gentle, and responsive expression! Vizsla is a name which means “alert and responsive” in Hungary. These dogs easily adapts and are good companions for inexperienced and experience pet owners. These breed is a clingy dog, as it likes companionship, interaction and attention at most times. It also needs an owner who has time to show it dedication otherwise; a Vizsla is not a good choice. This breed needs is gifted with high levels of energy and it needs lots of exercise. It loves to interact and play whenever necessary. It needs a place where it can safely play and securely walk around when unleashed!
A Vizsla when bored chews a lot, and its good to have lots of toys around it, it also needs lots of exercise, interaction and mental stimulation otherwise it can get nuts. A Vizsla is a gifted sentient intelligent learner dog; most trainers love to train a Vizsla. It likes to please its owners and can get good grades in training. Its personality is genuinely sanguine as it can get distracted and can be very independent. A trainer ought to be positive but firm whenever necessary. Early socialization is suggested to make its temperament stable.
Vizsla barks whenever it is alarmed and thus it is also known as a protective watchdog. The size of a Vizsla is enough to scare a robber or intruders. This dog likes pets, children, and strangers.
This dog is intelligent, thoughtful even if it is large. It has a sturdy build and healthy. It wears its smooth close fitting golden rust coat. The typical weight of a female Vizsla is forty five (45) to fifty five (55), and for the male Vizsla at around fifty five (55) to sixty five (65) pounds. Vizsla Female dogs can grow as long as twenty (20) to (23) twenty three and for male Vizsla dogs as much as twenty two (22) to twenty five (25) inches for males.
Sprucing Up A Vizsla
These dogs need grooming regularly, as it can shed heavily when it is in season. They need brushing regularly to make its coat shiny and sleek. Bathing is recommended for Vizsla whenever necessary to avoid diseases and for hygienic purposes. Regular cleaning of the eyes and ears are important f to avoid the onset of infectious diseases. This dog is medium shedder. Vizsla is not ideal for people with allergies.
Health And Lineage
Vizsla like any other dog has its health issues to manage like cancer, thyroid problems, cancer, seizures, HD, PRA, epilepsy, SA, and entropion. The puppy’s parents carries with it CERF and OFA certificates. You may request for a skin punch to check if it has a sebaceous adenitis.
Vizsla hails from Hungary, it was known as a dog hunter, and it goes with the tribe hunting hares and game birds. After the Second World War, it became widely known as a breed. It was registered in the year 1960 with the AKC.
